Today the university has NINE faculties, 32 P.G. Departments, and 11 Colleges. It runs Postgraduate classes in most of the subjects and some new even have been added. To mention some such courses are Biotechnology, Computer Diploma Courses, Management Courses. The University also runs a Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) established in 1974 that aims at providing opportunities to gain higher education to those students who are employed or otherwise engaged and are unable to attend regular classes.
Today the University has Departmental/Seminar libraries attached to all the Postgraduate Departments and Colleges. In addition, the University has a Central Library, too, which is being computerised and is linked with INFLIBNET.
The University also provides residential accommodation to about 50% of its Male Students and 100% Female Students.
